toddler snack tips

My toddler is always hungry! Now that I have a baby I am nursing often I have set up snacks so he can help himself while I am busy. In the pantry i have a basket on a low shelf with little boxes of raisens, frezze dried fruit packets, and fruit snacks. In the fridge I have sippy cups already with milk in them, fruit, and my new find this week are Milk bites. The Milk bites are great for my little guy and he actually eats them, unlike Nutri-grain bars or Quaker Chewy bars. My toddler does not like most things that are bread like, no bread or cake or even tortillas. I keep trying on the bread but he just picks out what he likes and tries to feed the bread to the dog. He eats enough carbs and starches from Goldfish and pasta, but it just makes my job my interesting. I just have to be creative and find ways to work with what he likes.

585 stars to go

Well it's been awhile, sorry we have been very busy. Here is a quick update:
  • December 1st Sylas is born
  • December 5th Sam came home
  • Holidays
  • Demember 26th G-Janie came to visit
  • January 5th Sam went back to Oki
  • I have been tring to figure out how to do this on my own just "the little feet and I"
  • Febuary 7th Scott turned 2
  • February 11th big 2 year old party
We are all good for the most part. I feel like I never stop working all day and night with the kids and house. So taking time to type means laundry doesn't get folded or the dishes wait a bit longer. There is awlays a chore to do, a butt to wipe or a mouth to feed. I would love to just play with the kids and do all the fun stuff but the "work" part has to get done too. If I don't do nobody else will. I find it interesting now on my 4 deployment with my husband I feel more alone then ever. Even though I am really never alone with the boys and dog. We are doing well though everyone is healthy and happy and we get to talk to daddy a lot on Skype. On that note since I have both kids napping right now I should get back to work. I will work better to post more. Pics coming from the birthday party with all the crafts/food i made for the occasion.

new years resolutions?

I heard the other day with all the new year hype that the number 1 resolution this year is to save more money. That is something I stide to do constantly. That got me thinking what my new year resolution should be? I really couldn't think of anything other then to try to do more then just keep my head above water. I know I got a lot on my plate for 2012 so to get a good handle on my work load and do it with a smile would be great. I do have an idea what 2012 holds for us. Here is the short list:
  • Disneyland
  • 2 year old Birthday
  • WDW
  • Visiting with daddy
  • Big boy bed
  • Potty training
  • Mommy alone b-day vaca
  • Crawling
  • Home made food for all
  • Lots of love and kisses
  • Learning how to ask for help!
Bring in it 2012 we are ready to rock this!

1 month old

Happy New Year! I am really going to try and be better about this little blog. I got busy prepping for this new baby and for Daddy to come home. Sylas was born on December 1st and is one month old today. My husband has been home for the last month and will leave again this week and I will have to come back to reality after this amazing fantasy world we have lived in for the last month.

This is my big 1 month old! He is very different then my first son and it amazes me everyday to see this new little person develop into his own person. He is still a bit of a night owl and i think i have it pinned down to the fact that at night it is too dark and quite for this kid. His birth was fast and he loves to eat and is gaining weight like a champ. Well time is flying by and I will need to feed the little monster and try to get some sleep here soon. Only 4 more days till it is just the little feet and I again...
